About Berkeley Heights NJ 07922
Berkeley Heights is a township in Union County NJ. As of the 2018 census it has a population of approximately 13,601. It was originally incorporated in 1809 as New Providence Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. In 1857 it became part of the newly formed Union County. The name of the township was changed to Berkeley Heights in 1951. Berkeley Heights was named for John Berkeley, the firs Baron Berkeley of Stratton, one of the founders of the Province of New Jersey. Berkeley Heights is bordered by the Union County municipalities of New Providence, Summit and Scotch Plains. It also borders on Chatham, Watchung, Warren and Long Hill Township, all in other counties.
