Charles Maffey Sr., who immigrated to America with his father in 1908 from Austria, founded what has become Maffey’s Security Group ( formerly D.B.A. ‘Maffey’s Lock & Safe Company’ ), catering to the security needs of local businesses and industry. Today, Maffey’s Security Group has evolved from skeleton keys and padlocks to Access Control, CCTV Surveillance Security Systems, Biometric Access, and Megapixel Security Cameras. Maffey’s provides expert, innovative and trustworthy service to both commercial and residential clients all over the state of NJ. Edward and Andrew Maffey earned their college degree in architecture and accounting respectively and returned to continue growing the business during a changing world of business. With new tools in hand and a legacy of hard work behind them, Maffey’s Security Group made the leap into the high-tech age of security. Ed and Andy have been at the helm since 2009. Together, they are poised to lead Maffey’s Security Group into the burgeoning IoT era and beyond.

Charles Jr. was born in 1921 on a farm in what is now Rahway Park. Charles Jr. began working the business from the time he was five years old. Back then, he was just tall enough to stand on a box and reach the vice to file a skeleton key. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he and his brother Connie, an Army veteran, continued to develop and grow the business. Charlie married Evelyn in 1947 and entered the business when Charles Jr. acquired sole ownership in 1966. Always the strength behind the scenes, she tirelessly took care of the family during the day and the books with Charlie in the evening. She worked full time until her retirement in 1997.
Charles Sr. Born in Austria in 1895. Charles Sr. immigrated to America with his father in 1908 and later married Marina Brunelli (1918). Together they raised four children. While Charles ran the business from the customer side, Marina worked as a bookkeeper and kept the business profitable through the early years.
