About Wayne
Wayne is a township in Passaic County, NJ. As of the 2020 census it has a population of 54,838. Wayne was formed as a township in 1847 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. It is named for Anthony Wayne, a Revolutionary War figure. Wayne is bordered by the Passaic County municipalities of Haledon, Little Falls, North Haledon, Pompton Lakes and Totowa.
