About Little Silver NJ 07739

Little Silver is a borough in Monmouth County, NJ. As of the 2023 census it has a population of approximately 6,053. It was established with a king’s land grant in 1663 and settled in 1667. Little Silver was incorporated as a borough in 1923 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. There are various attributions as to the name of the borough – one being that two brothers, Peter and Joseph Parker who settled in the area, owned property that was bordered on the north by the Little Silver Creek. They named their property “Little Silver” after the creek and after their father’s estate in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Little Silver is bordered by the Monmouth County municipalities of Fair Haven, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson and Shrewsbury.
