About North Bergen NJ 07047

North Bergen is a township in the northern part of Hudson County, NJ. As of the 2018 census, it has a population of approximately 61,630. The town was founded in 1843, but was much diminished in territory because of a series of secessions. It was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature.  The town’s name comes from being in the northern part of Bergen Township. North Bergen is bordered by the Hudson County municipalities of Secaucus, Guttenberg, West New York, Union City, and Jersey City.
