Middlesex is a borough in Middlesex County, NJ. As of the 2019 census, it has a population of approximately 13,700. It was incorporated as a borough in 1913 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. The name Middlesex comes from Middlesex, England. Middlesex is bordered by the Middlesex County municipalities of Dunellen and Piscataway.
