About Singac
Singac is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located within Little Falls Passaic County, NJ. As of 2010 it has a population of 3,618. The name “Singac” is believed to be a Lenape Native American term meaning “backbone of mountain”. Other possibilities are a Lenape term “schinghacki” meaning “flat country”, or “schingask” meaning “boggy meadow”. Singac is located in the western end of Little Falls, and it is bound to the north by the Passaic River.
